Where do you put your watches when you take them off?

I have already tried many different ways on how to store or place my watches but never have I imagined having them sit on a cone.

Where do you put your watches when you take them off? From my experience there are a number of ways. Some people like to store their watches in the original boxes, others use so called watch boxes which can house multiple timepieces. Then again there are the ones that don’t bother for scratches and simply put them on a counter or bed side table. There are multiple variants of watch trays mostly out of leather that act as a safe haven for watches. Last but not least watch rolls, these have become so popular lately that there are so many different brands and styles to choose from. Never however have I seen someone put their watches on a cone.

So when I saw the products of @thewatchcone on Instagram I was quite interested in how it works and they were kind enough to send me one of their cones to try out.

First of all when I received the package I expected a big cone however the cone isn’t any bigger than your usual watch. Nevertheless the build quality is great and the cone is covered by faux leather (comes in 2 variants black and white) and the bottom is made from wood.

Here are the specs:

  • Smooth faux leather & high quality bamboo
  • Weighted base
  • Available in black or white
  • Size: 10cm tall x 9cm wide
  • Fits any watch

The company is based in Chicago and was started by watch enthusiasts. Their mission is to elevate and protect your timepiece by solving the problem of micro scratches caused by improper storage while off the wrist. It’s a modern approach to displaying watches and similar to the watch stands I believe that it is a very cool idea to display your watches similar to pieces of art.

So what is your take on storing watches? Let me know you thoughts about this topic.

Cheers Niko!
